Some 500 users and pushers of illegal drugs in Barangay Commonwealth in Quezon City have voluntarily surrendered to barangay officials,
Among those who surrendered were three minors who submitted themselves to the authorities due to fear, with one only aged 16 years.
Many youths have been a user of illegal drugs, that's why President Duterte wants them to rehabilitate to get themselfs out of the use of illegal drugs.
In an interview of GMA News a minor said that "Mas maganda na po 'yung susuko kaysa sa pagmamatigas pa.. dahil kung magmamatigas pa sa sementaryo ang kababagsakan."
Those who surrendered themselves underwent counseling and were subjected to drug tests. They will also have a community service in their barangay for having a rehabilitation.
Those unemployed are being encouraged to enroll short courses in the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA).
"Magandang naging kinalabasan kasi maraming sumuko, marami ring nagbago. Bagamat may mga ilan ilan na sumuko na hindi naman nagbago, 'yun ang inooperate namin," Barangay Commonwealth Captain Manuel Co said.
